Recipes and Encouragement

Once you get the hang of sorbet, you’ll realize that you don’t need a recipe! It really is simple and beautiful.

Until that day, though, here are a few sorbet recipes originally found in the Recipe Box from Jamie’s personal collection. They’ll get you started.

Peach Sorbet

Ingredients

  • 4 cups sliced peaches as ripe as you can get your hands on

  • 1 cup maple syrup (optional)

  • 1 cup orange juice (optional)

Depending on the ripeness of the peaches you may or may not need any other ingredients. However the maple syrup and orange juice are a super combination either way.

Directions

  1. Puree' just the peaches or all three ingredients in the blender then freeze in quart size freezer bags.

  2. 30 minutes before serving remove the frozen bag of sorbet from the freezer to thaw slightly.

  3. Return slightly thawed sorbet to the blender and buzz for just long enough for the frozen sorbet to turn into a creamy rich consistency.

  4. Spoon into dessert cups and enjoy.
