Recipes and Encouragement

Once you get the hang of sorbet, you’ll realize that you don’t need a recipe! It really is simple and beautiful.

Until that day, though, here are a few sorbet recipes originally found in the Recipe Box from Jamie’s personal collection. They’ll get you started.

Peach Sorbet

  • 4 cups sliced peaches as ripe as you can get your hands on

  • 1 cup maple syrup (optional)

  • 1 cup orange juice (optional)

Depending on the ripeness of the peaches you may or may not need any other ingredients. However the maple syrup and orange juice are a super combination either way.

  1. Puree' just the peaches or all three ingredients in the blender then freeze in quart size freezer bags.

  2. 30 minutes before serving remove the frozen bag of sorbet from the freezer to thaw slightly.

  3. Return slightly thawed sorbet to the blender and buzz for just long enough for the frozen sorbet to turn into a creamy rich consistency.

  4. Spoon into dessert cups and enjoy.

Strawberry Sorbet

  • 4 cups sliced strawberries frozen

  • 1 cup maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  1. Place all ingredients in the blender and puree'.

  2. Serve in a dessert dish right away and freeze any extra.

Bubble Gum Sorbet

  • 1 pint sliced strawberries frozen

  • 2 sliced kiwi frozen

  • 1 sliced mango frozen

  • 1 cup maple syrup

  • 1 cup orange juice

  1. Place all ingredients in the blender and puree'.

  2. Place puree' in dessert cups.

  3. Freeze any excess...we never have any excess

Now, the sky’s the limit. Find the most delicious fruit in your area, freeze it, and give it a whirl. It’s not difficult.

You can do it.
