How to Clean and Season Your Cast-Iron Skillet
Run hot water over your cast iron pan. Use a plastic scraper to scrape off any food residue. A big point to remember is to never use dish soap on your cast-iron.

Use a scratch pad that hasn’t been treated with any chemicals to remove any remaining residue. Wipe clean with a paper towel.

Spoon lard onto your cast-iron skillet, then work the lard into the pores of the skillet.

Sit the pan in a 350 degree oven upside-down on top of a cookie sheet for 1 hour.

Remove from the oven, and congratulations! Your skillet will now be ready to cook with.

Repeat the seasoning process as needed.
